Foresight GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX & Falcon
Foresight units photograph the ball and club at impact rather than tracking flight, which is why fitters love them: launch, spin and club delivery are measured from the strike itself, indoors or out, from a unit that sits beside the ball. The GC3 (three cameras) measures ball data plus club speed, path and attack; the GCQuad and QuadMAX (four cameras) add face angle, loft, lie, closure rate and impact location; the ceiling-mounted Falcon replaced the GCHawk in August 2026. FSX Play / FSX Pro export a clean CSV.

Best for: Fitters, coaches and golfers who want camera-measured impact data — and the Bushnell Launch Pro owners who are running the same GC3 hardware.

Which numbers are measured — and which are computed
Every launch monitor computes some of what it shows. A carry distance is a trajectory model run on measured launch numbers; a smash factor is one measurement divided by another. Knowing which is which tells you how much to trust a change — and it is what ShotIQ's import gateway uses to decide which analyses to switch on for your sessions.

M = measured directly by the device · Mo = modelled from measured launch conditions · D = derived from two other metrics · C = a label the device assigns · E = estimated · — = not offered. Superscripts refer to the notes below.
- ¹ Club data needs reflective stickers on the clubface (GCQuad: four-sticker mode for the full set). Ball data needs nothing.
- ² Shown in FSX software; the QuadMAX also computes apex, descent and offline on the device.
Spin, balls and stickers
Spin: Photometric: spin and axis are measured from the ball's markings at impact, indoors or out, with any ball — a marked ball (or a line) facing the cameras sharpens spin-axis reads.
Club data: GC3 measures speed, path and attack; face angle, dynamic loft, lie, closure rate and impact location belong to the four-camera units. ShotIQ's Impact Lab shows exactly what your unit measured — path and attack from a GC3, the full D-plane and strike location from a Quad.
Subscription: Club data is included on GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX and Falcon (the Bushnell-branded GC3 gates it behind a subscription — see the Bushnell guide). FSX Play and FSX Pro come with the units; courses are bought individually.
Space and setup
- Position the unit beside the ball, 12–18 in offset, level with the hitting surface — not behind you — so it needs little depth.
- Falcon: ceiling-mounted at roughly 9.5–10.5 ft, ahead of the hitting area.
- Good, even lighting and clean lenses; photometric units dislike direct sun on the cameras.
How accurate is it?
Foresight publishes no consumer error bars; the GCQuad is the other unit manufacturers benchmark against (FlightScope quotes 'within 1% of the GCQuad'). Because launch and spin are measured at impact, indoor and outdoor sessions are directly comparable.
How to get your data into ShotIQ
FSX Play / FSX Pro / FSX 2020 (PC)
- Open Session History (FSX Pro) or the Practice Range history (FSX Play).
- Select the session → Export → CSV and save it.
- Upload to ShotIQ → Know Your Game → Add a session. ShotIQ recognises Foresight files by name and by the Impact Location headers.
Format: CSV, one row per shot, ball and club data — Every unit exports the same layout; a GC3 file simply has empty face/impact columns, which ShotIQ shows as not recorded.
Screenshots
- The unit's own screen, the FSX shot table or a fitter's printed report — photograph and upload.
Format: Images (AI read)
What lights up in ShotIQ
Runs in full
- Everything on four-camera units: bag, dispersion, Impact Lab (face, path, attack, dynamic loft, strike location), Setup Lab, all four Fitting Guide pillars, Wedge Matrix, CourseIQ for FSX rounds
Partial — shown with its real confidence
- GC3: Impact Lab shows path + attack; face-dependent reads stay off
Tips
- Put stickers on every club before the session — a club without one records ball data only and shows a gap in Impact Lab.
- Tag fitting sessions 'Club testing / fitting' on upload so demo heads stay out of your stock carries and go to Gear Lab instead.
- Export from FSX after every session; the unit's own memory is not the archive.
Frequently asked questions
Does ShotIQ import Foresight data?
Yes — a dedicated parser for the FSX CSV (GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX, Falcon, GCHawk, and Bushnell Launch Pro) plus screenshot reading. Four-camera units light up every ShotIQ analysis including strike location.
GC3 vs GCQuad — what's the difference for analysis?
The clubface. Both measure ball data, speed, path and attack; the GCQuad adds face angle, loft, lie, closure rate and impact location, which is what lets ShotIQ attribute a curve to face-vs-path and a mishit to strike position.
Does the GC3 measure face angle?
No. Face angle, dynamic loft and impact location belong to the GCQuad, QuadMAX and Falcon. ShotIQ keeps those reads off for GC3 sessions rather than estimating them.
Do I need stickers?
For club data, yes — reflective dots on the face (four on a GCQuad for the full set). Ball data records without them.
What is side angle?
The horizontal direction the ball leaves the face relative to the target line — where the shot starts before any curve. ShotIQ uses it for Setup Lab's alignment findings.
Is the GCHawk still supported?
Discontinued in August 2026 and replaced by the Falcon, but its FSX exports import exactly as before.
I have a Bushnell Launch Pro — same guide?
Same hardware and the same CSV, but different pricing and subscriptions. See the Bushnell guide.
