ShotIQ Learn/📱 Launch Monitors & Sims
PRGR Pocket Launch Monitor
The PRGR is the speed-training favourite: a pocket radar with no app that shows club speed, ball speed, smash factor and an estimated carry and total on its screen. It is honest and repeatable on speed (reviewers quote about ±1 mph) and that is all it claims. ShotIQ logs PRGR shots from a photo of the screen or by typing them in — enough for speed trends, smash and rough gapping.

Which numbers are measured — and which are computed
Every launch monitor computes some of what it shows. A carry distance is a trajectory model run on measured launch numbers; a smash factor is one measurement divided by another. Knowing which is which tells you how much to trust a change — and it is what ShotIQ's import gateway uses to decide which analyses to switch on for your sessions.

M = measured directly by the device · Mo = modelled from measured launch conditions · D = derived from two other metrics · C = a label the device assigns · E = estimated · — = not offered. Superscripts refer to the notes below.
- ¹ Estimated from speed — not a measured or modelled flight.
Spin, balls and stickers
Spin: Not measured.
Club data: Club speed only.
Subscription: None; no app.
Space and setup
- On the ground 4–6 ft behind the ball, aimed at the target; indoors or out.
How accurate is it?
Reviewers report speeds within about 1 mph of reference units. Distances are estimates — use them for gapping order, not yardages.
How to get your data into ShotIQ
Screen photo or manual log
- Photograph the screen after each shot (or a block) and upload the images under Choose Screenshots, declaring PRGR.
- Or type a block into ShotIQ with Log Session (unlimited on free).
Format: Photos (AI read) / manual
What lights up in ShotIQ
Runs in full
- Speed and smash trends per club, Progress personal bests, rough gapping
Partial — shown with its real confidence
- Carries are estimated — flagged as such, kept out of caddie yardages unless you confirm them
Stays off — the hardware doesn't measure it, and ShotIQ never guesses a number it wasn't given.
- Dispersion, spin, Impact Lab, Setup Lab
Tips
- Log the club with every reading so speeds group correctly.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a PRGR with ShotIQ?
Yes — photograph the screen or log readings manually. You get speed, smash and trend tracking; distances are estimates and treated as such.
